What cookies are
Cookies are small pieces of information a website can ask your browser to retain and send with later requests. Other browser features, including localStorage and sessionStorage, can also retain information but work differently from cookies.
Storage in the supplied guide code
The supplied HTML, CSS and JavaScript do not set cookies, use localStorage or sessionStorage, or include advertising and analytics trackers. The mobile menu, scroll reveals and preparation checklist work without persistent website storage.
- Checklist: ticks update the current page only; the guide does not deliberately save them.
- Message composer: draft text remains in the current page until you choose to copy, download or send it through another application.
- Menu and animations: these use temporary page state, not a tracking identifier.
Clipboard, files and browser behaviour
Choosing Copy asks your browser to place the draft on your clipboard. Choosing Download creates a text file for you to save. These are user-initiated device functions, not cookies. Clipboard history, downloads, form autofill, page restoration and caching may retain information under your browser and device settings.
Do not assume closing a tab removes a downloaded file or clears the clipboard. Use your device controls if you need to delete those copies.
Hosting and separately supplied components
This notice describes the guide files supplied with this website. Hosting security services or separately supplied consent tools can have their own storage behaviour. Their actual operation must be assessed against the deployed website; a static front-end cannot determine what an independent hosting layer sets.
If a separate consent control is present, use it to manage the categories it describes. Essential service storage may be treated differently under applicable law. The supplied guide scripts do not independently activate optional tracking.
External websites
Following a source link takes you to a different service, which may set its own cookies under its own policies. No external video, map, font or social-media widget is embedded in these guide files.
Your browser controls
You can inspect, block or clear site data through your browser’s privacy settings. Blocking cookies should not prevent the supplied guides from being read. JavaScript is needed for the message composer and enhanced menu interaction, but not for reading the main guide text.
